About the BCCS Syringe Services Program (SSP):
Brandywine Counseling and Community Services and The Division of Public Health are proud to partner and offer syringe exchange services throughout Delaware. BCCS’ Syringe Services Program (SSP) serves those caught in the cycle of addiction, helping them avoid sharing needles. The program protects users and their loved ones from contracting HIV, Hepatitis C, and other infectious diseases, and meets clients without judgment to helps them explore available options for lessening their exposure to disease.
Through coordinated outreach efforts, the Syringe Services Program (formerly the Syringe Exchange Program and the Needle Exchange Program) provides an unyielding harm prevention program through access to sterile syringes. The program also provides a connection to substance abuse and mental health treatment.
BCCS provides the Syringe Services Program through mobile outreach in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Countues every Monday through Friday. Services include: Syringe Exchange • HIV Testing, Counseling, & Referral • Drug Treatment Referral • HCV Testing • Wound Care Kits • Street Outreach & Education • Narcan Rescue Kits • Fentanyl Testing Strips • Syringe Delivery
