From the CEO

Our mission at BCCS is to help communities flourish. We do what has to be done. We do the difficult work. We make neighborhoods stronger, safer, and healthier. We work with the entire population, because prevention and behavioral services do not, and cannot, differentiate between social classes.

People come to us in their darkest hour knowing they are going to be treated with dignity and optimism. We help them regain their self-esteem and a very real chance at a new life. Some of the most rewarding parts of my job are seeing BCCS grow to become the most trusted provider of integrated services in Delaware, and succeeding in our goals of providing Education, Advocacy, Prevention, Early Intervention, and Treatment services to those in need.

Addiction impacts all communities, so we go where the problem is. If that’s in your backyard, we’re there. As the need for our services increases exponentially, so has our vigor and determination to meet these needs head-on.

For over 30 years we have been helping members of our community recover with self-respect, while improving their physical and mental health. Today, we say with pride that BCCS has built a reputation as Delaware’s leading community-focused behavioral health organization.

And what of tomorrow? BCCS was a young establishment when I joined the family over 20 years ago. I fell in love instantly and wanted a branch on every block! My dream is still about creating and expanding opportunities for the communities we serve – perhaps not a branch on every block, but having a BCCS program within the reach of every Delawarean. Change is good.
