Issue Date: August 1, 2018

Effective July 1, 2018, the Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DMMA) removed the co-payment fee requirement for naloxone opioid overdose rescue medications for all Delaware Medicaid fee-for-service and Managed Care (MCO) members.

Naloxone opioid overdose rescue medications can be obtained with a prescription from a physician, or without prescription under a standing order issued by the Division of Public Health. Members should inquire with their pharmacy to determine if they are registered to fulfill the standing order prescription for naloxone.

Naloxone opioid has been proven to be a significant resource to reverse the deadly adverse effects of an opioid drug overdose.
