ADVISORY: Lieutenant Governor Bethany Hall-Long to Lead Opioid Panel Discussion Hosted by Junior League of Wilmington

WHO: The Junior League of Wilmington invites the community to a panel discussion on the opioid addiction crisis in Delaware. Lieutenant Governor Bethany Hall-Long will lead the panel, which will explore the epidemic of opioid addiction and what it means for the First State, with a particular emphasis on the impact on women and children. Joining her will be Dr. Lynn Fahey, CEO of Brandywine Counseling and Community Services; Alexandra Dolan, MSS, LSW, Center for Excellence in Advocacy Training Coordinator at the Support Center for Child Advocates, and Aleks Casper, Executive Vice President of Strategic Development & Government Affairs at Connections Community Support Programs, Inc.

WHAT: Members of the community and the media are invited to join us for light refreshments at 6:30 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. panel discussion with an opportunity for questions and dialogue. The panel will address why opioid use continues to increase, what the state is doing to help those suffering from addiction, where to get help, and how the crisis has impacted families in Delaware. The Junior League of Wilmington is celebrating 100 years of impacting the greater Wilmington area, and has a rich history of helping to bring attention to critical issues in the community. With this discussion, the League hopes to raise awareness of this epidemic and help community members understand the need for support of people with this addiction, people in treatment, and people in recovery.
