Brandywine Counseling & Community Services (BCCS) was proud to participate in the ‘Partnership in Excellence: The Power in You’ community outreach event at Legislative Mall in Dover, DE on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Tracy Palmer Ministries partnered with Unlimited Express/Church without Walls Outreach to host the successful event. The purpose was to encourage and provide a variety of resources to different people in the community.
Dieasha Smith, Prevention Specialist at BCCS, hosted a painting booth at the event. Painting is a technique that can help individuals of all ages take care of their mental health.
BCCS also partnered with the Community Outreach Committee and the Millsboro Preston Auto Group to give away 400 backpacks to students. Members of the sorority Zeta Phi Beta, Theta Zeta Zeta Chapter, also distributed clothing and backpacks to those in need.
Over a dozen community and services agencies and local businesses supported the free event, which also featured Rev. John Moore speaking about the COVID-19 pandemic and racial injustice.
The event also featured a DJ, activities, and prizes.
